Today was absolutely enjoyable! Shir Li, my high school economic tuition teacher and a few of my friends planned to take a trip to Bukit Cahaya for some Sky Trekking. I didn’t know what it was at first, but I thought it was something like jungle trekking. Kok Yan and Peng Choong picked me up at my house around 1.30 in the afternoon to meet the others at the old tuition house.
I was pretty enthusiastic about it as I had never sky trekked before. Everyone else was excited too. It started to drizzle a little when we were on our way there. On the contrary, I felt quite at ease as I had no use of the sun block I brought with me. The weather was cool and windy; a perfect day for a climb! We had our basics at the lower level before entering The Big Thrill. There were three difficulty levels, the easy level, medium level and extreme level. We chose the medium level as it was our first time. We geared up and headed for the ladder which hanged on 70 meter tall tree.
It was definitely nerve-wrecking and I had my fair share of adrenaline rushes as I swung from one branch to another or balanced on a thin line of cable while being supported by a small metal hook. We looked funny in our gears and it gave us a hard time walking. Therefore, we had so much fun laughing at one another. I could say that I have overcome my fear of heights. I had never flown so many times before! The workers were friendly and hilarious. While waiting for my turn at the death-defying flying fox, one of the trainers was asking me and my friend to hold on to the tree while he jumped. It’s a good thing we did, because the moment he took off, the whole tree shook! He told us that we will never experience another 106kg man jumping off a flying fox anywhere else.
It was so exhilarating and dangerous! I’m definitely coming back to take on the Extreme Course.
We completed the two hour course and headed to Tasty Pot. We stuffed ourselves with delicious fish balls and seafood and went home tired and satisfied.
Okay end assignment day 2. :)
